Day 1 at the University of Oradea

We didn’t just learn about plants today… we lived them.

The morning started with ideas floating around, vertical urban farming, photosynthesis, transpiration, all those concepts you think you understand until you actually see them breathing, moving, existing. And then suddenly, it clicks. It’s not just theory anymore; it’s life happening in front of you.

But the real magic? That happened when we stepped out of the classroom.

At the university’s education farm, things got real. Hands in the soil, minds fully switched on, we built our own vertical growing towers from scratch, complete with irrigation systems (yes, actual working ones!). Watching something take shape with our own hands hits differently. It’s messy, it’s exciting, and it’s incredibly satisfying.

Then came the tiny wonders, microgreens. Small, delicate, but full of potential. Planting them felt like planting ideas for the days ahead.

And just when we thought the day couldn’t get more fascinating… we zoomed into an entirely new universe. Under the microscope, leaves turned into landscapes. Stomata looked like tiny gateways, secretory glands like hidden factories. It’s wild to think how much is happening in places our eyes can’t even reach.

By the end of the day, we weren’t just tired, we were energized in a completely different way. The kind of energy that comes from discovering, creating, and seeing the world from a new perspective.
